I wonder, is it race or culture? I have black friends. Middle class. Used to have a black neighbour, with Yemeni wife. She worked in the medical industry, he was a manager of a Peet's. Politically, we were on the same page, and we used to trade meals. I've worked with many black, and they were intelligent and cool. I've also been 'rescued' by a few blacks via random acts of kindness, including a tire change. Ghetto culture shoots for the lowest common denominator, and it's hard to fight that to get out. I read a teacher's account, that in the lower grades the kids are pretty equal, then the blacks start to go down hill in the later grades. I also read they do rather well when they go to private schools.

I really wonder what South Africa would be like if there hadn't been the forced segregation of the past. I have no clue if it would have worked.

Then we have Brazil. A racial hodgepodge. Of course the country is totally screwed up, and poverty is rampant. I don't know, but do people care down there what race another is if they aren't of the so called 'elite'?

I spent a few months in rural North Carolina. I hung out more with blacks than whites in school. This was in 1979. There were no problems. AND THEY WEREN'T STUPID. RACE WAS NOT AN ISSUE.

I think it's culture rather than genetics, and I think the U.S. gubment is the worst offender in regards to messing the mostly big city blacks up.

I'd also say Scott Adams is a mixture of right and wrong. You can't put an entire people in the same stew of perception, but there is a major problem with the ghetto mindset. They are miserable, and will take anyone down they think has it better than them. Well again, not all of them, but. . . They don't grok than some of us have to WORK, and work hard, insane hours to have a comfortable existence.
