I sent the following message to my U.S. Representative and Senators. I encourage you to send your Congressional representatives a similar appeal for fiscal sanity:

“The national debt is $31.3 trillion and growing, and we’re paying more than $300 billion in interest every year on that debt. And many members of Congress want to raise the debt ceiling? According to Forbes, Congress has raised, extended or revised the definition of the debt limit 78 times since 1960.

It’s time to end this insanity, cut spending radically, balance the budget this year and every year thereafter, not sometime in the future that never comes. Instead of threatening to cut Social Security, Medicare, and disability for veterans, end foreign aid and all subsidies. We can also easily do without the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Labor, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Education, the Environmental Protection Agency, United States Trade Representative, and the Small Business Administration. The Defense Department’s budget is bloated; it can be trimmed without jeopardizing its legitimate defense function.”

My comment: Conservative politicians have been asking Congress to reduce the budget for many decades, but nothing is ever done. Instead it is increased every year.

Apparently they don't care if it increases on a yearly basis - since the system they are operating is still working, and the congressmen and bankers all seem to be getting richer.

IMO it is a waste of time to even ask politicians to trim the budget. They prefer to start wars, shut down pipelines, tell us to eat bugs, borrow more money and allow millions of illegals to flood the nation. Nothing makes sense anymore, they are doing the very opposite of what should be done.

However, if the right president was placed in the Whitehouse, in ONE day the nation could be turned around and start going in the right direction.
Is that likely to happen? Nah, they would rather start another war and take us to the brink of nuclear annihilation. After all, they are all such "honorable" men. (To quote from Shakespeare's play: Julius Caesar) GE
