The 12,000 year Earth disaster is essentially a repeat of what happened approximately 12,000 years ago that ended the ancient civilization(s) of Atlantis (and Mu). According to this theory the primary destructive force of this event is a micro-nova of the Sun that's caused by energies emanating from the galactic center. It's not too far fetched to think that TPTB are anticipating this event (based on ancient, hidden, knowledge) and what we're seeing take place with their machinations in the world right now is directly related to that.
