Hope Starts Here: You Can Replace Your Congressperson, and Be Paid $348k for the Two-year Term

In the current election year, all 435 seats of the House of Representatives are up for grabs. Each and every one of them could have a new "owner" to start January 3, 2023. Could it be you? Yes, if you will be age 25 or older by that day and have been a US citizen for 7 years. Are you required to be currently living in the district that you hope to represent? No, per Article I, sec 2 of the US Constitution, you must be living in the STATE of the desired district, as of the day of the election -- November 8, 2022.

I think some states may have added an additional requirement (constitutionally or otherwise) that a candidate must have lived in that state for a year. It is easy to check the rules of your state on the Internet or by phone to your Sec'y of State's office. Note: the base pay is $174K,000 per year. Which is better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick.

Of the 435 districts, 110 are already past the deadline for filing as a candidate. They are in the states of: AL, AR, IN, KY, MS, MT, NV, NE 3, NC, OH, TX, UT, and WV. But don't despair, you can be a write-in.

Another 150 districts have their filing deadlines soon, in March 2022, so hurry! The deadline is March 11 for California -- our most populous state, with 53 seats up for grabs. The other March-deadline states are: CO, GA, ID, IL, IA, ME, MD, MO, NM, OR, PA, SD, SC.

In the month of April, 2022, 88 districts have filing deadlines, in these states: AZ, MI, NY, NJ, ND, OK, TN, VA. Don't be complacent, as April is almost upon us.

The May deadlines in 29 districts occur in these states: MA, MN, VT, WY, WA. The June deadlines in 49 districts are in the states of: AK, CT, FL, KS, HI, NH, WI. The July deadlines in 9 districts are in the states of DE, LA, and RI.

In my opinion, we are in desperate need of replacing the members of Congress who have no appreciation for the Constitution and who kowtow to special interests and to the seemingly formidable "Globalists."

I have twice tried to run for Congress: in 2006 in New Hampshire for the US House, and in 2017 in Alabama for the US Senate. It is easier than you may think, to be a candidate, and it can be quite cheap to run a small campaign. Below, I propose a national scheme to help suitable people become candidates.

For this scheme you'll first ask your party to give you "ballot access." (See ballotpedia.org). When I ran in NH, I filed directly with the State in June, paying a $50 fee to the Secretary of State's office. Then I informed my party, Republican, that I was a candidate, and they put my name on the ballot for the September primary (which I lost).

In 2017, when I ran in Alabama, for the Senate, it was for a special election, as Senator Jeff Sessions had vacated his seat to become US Attorney General. The method there was to pay the party ($3,480, either to Republican or Democrat). One does not compete with other wannabe's to get that far. Your party will arrange for you to have ballot access. Note: some states have financial forgiveness for impoverished candidates.

By the way, political parties are not mentioned in the Constitution. They are private organizations. However, states legislate to allow certain practices for parties as I have just described. Right now, I think there is such urgency in regard to opposing recent governmental overreaches, that it is not essential to try to get Party A or B elected. I envision any American operating in a bipartisan way -- as was normal in the past. (The red state/blue state hype is very unAmerican.)

Introducing a National Scheme

I am willing to set up a national cyber meeting-place for potential Congresspersons who would find it too daunting to go it alone. I am well aware that the media has plenty of power to make sure you don't win. I don't guarantee we will win 435 seats, or even one seat. But we would be making a statement of unity among Americans on a few basic issues. I am thinking of the inspirational Canadian truckers who made an amazing statement by just standing together.

The politicians and the courts routinely let us down. Myself and some friends feel like we are living in a double world. Amongst ourselves we talk of normal fixtures of the past such as honesty, Rule of Law, and taking responsibility for our nation. Then we turn on the TV and hear gobbledygook. I find it astonishing that so many politicians are truly fluent in that gobbledygook. I wonder how they learned it, and why.

Anyway, if a few souls will help me in this endeavor, the plan will be for interested candidates to come to us, requesting to be included in a sort of master list. Then, the citizenry can be told that when they go to the polling booth, they should vote for whoever in their district is on this (well-vetted) list. We should think up a simple name. For the moment I'll call the group "Truthtellers."

In 2011, I published a book entitled "Prosecution for Treason," putting forth some ideas for an all-new Congress. I did not follow up on it, especially as I was living in Australia at the time, but I see there has been no progress.

I realize we may all be slated to get nuked soon -- but it's also quite possible that the Big Bozos are only faking it and do not have the ability to carry it off.

Here is something written by the truly great war correspondent George Seldes when he was in Italy, about a lost opportunity that would have spared so much suffering:

"The black shirt and the black cap disappeared from the streets, the leaders of Fascism were in tremulous hiding, and a cry for freedom and liberty arose in the land.... The King considered… abolishing the illegal Fascist militia, restoring democratic government. But he was afraid. The Opposition parties had only to take one decisive action, but for four days they talked and talked because they foresaw two or three hundred men killed … Despite the fact they had already lost four thousand men, dead in fighting with the Black shirts, they decided not to shed more blood but hope for peaceful evolution without action." ~ George Seldes, Sawdust Caesar (1935) p. 154.

Aw geez.

Let's end with a missive to the Bozos:

Dear Bozos, Your plans were always stupid. Lately they are absurd. And why are you willing to follow a few idiots at the very top? Can't you free yourselves from all this? I'll bet you have more opportunity for freedom than you realize. You're only human and all humans have at least a modicum of choice. Just do what you gotta do.
