With the first single release from his 1984 "Centerfield" album, here's John Fogerty with "The Old Man Down the Road". This went to #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

According to Wikipedia, Saul Zaentz, owner of Fantasy Records which held rights to many of the CCR recordings, sued Fogerty, saying the chorus of "The Old Man Down the Road" was the same as the chorus of "Run Through the Jungle". (Greedy much? :) Fogerty eventually prevailed, with his guitar, demonstrating on the witness stand that, though compositions by the same artist are likely to have a certain similarity of sound, nevertheless the musical choruses of the two songs are distinctly different.
