Tonic Syrup aka. quinine.

3 tbs. Cinchona Bark (THE IMPORTANT INGREDIENT). available from on-line herb shops.
2 lemons zested
2 oranges zested...juice the lemons and oranges as well.
3 cups sugar....(10 tbs. of honey is better, sugar draws vitamins out of the citrus.
4 cups of water
Pinch of salt

Add any of these herbs for flavor:

Star Anise 2-4 crushed or ground. (they are saying there's an element in this that helps against you-know-what...'shedding'.
Vanilla pod scraped

Juniper berries, 5 crushed
Rosemary, (small sprig fresh).
Cinnamon...a small pinch

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer or boil about 30 mins.
Then add to slow cooker for 7 hours on LOW.

Allow to cool. Strain and pour back into pan to heat to add the honey. Do not simmer or boil.

Allow to cool.

Pour into glass jar and store in refrigerator, keeps for months.

I put mine in 115 mg dark glass bottle with topper. I take a shot of this now and then.

Have it like a cordial, about 1 part tonic to 5 parts water or soda or mix with gin as you like.
You may add more lemon or lime juice.

Quinine is contra-indicated for people on blood thinners, but not sure if tonic water would be enough to be a problem. Do check with your GP you trust if unsure.

This recipe is very adaptable to whatever ingredients you have.

The most important ingredient is the Cinchona Bark and some kind of citrus zest.

Feel free to take a zinc tablet around the same time you have a
drink.

If anything it is a very pleasant drink with a range of health benefits.

Apparently you can just chew the bark to get the benefits.

Added note: I've been told it's good for resisting na/no/bots and sp/ike prot/ein, in un/vaxx/ed...for shed/ding purposes.
