You might want to look at the map in the article you provided that shows the train route of the artillery movement.

Look for Fredericton and go down towards Saint John.

Between them is the town of Oromocto which houses the main buildings of the Canadian Base CFB Gagetown(old name). However, if you draw a line from Oromocto to St. John and all the area of the line to the right to the amount of 420 square miles - you would have the training area of that base; And quite a bit of land to 'stash'/stage chinese troops and equipment.

I used to live there, so I know the area well and it wouldn't be too hard to snoop around to see what might be up.
