When mentioning Minneapolis, I invariably think of its twin city, St. Paul, where Garrison Keillor hosted A Prairie Home Companion, a well-known and popular radio variety show that ran for over 30 years until Keillor's contract was terminated due to allegations of inappropriate behavior with an individual who worked with him.

Prairie Home Companion was particularly known for Keillor's monologue about a fictitious Midwestern city called Lake Woebegone - a 10-15 minute monologue which he closed with these memorable words:

"And that's the news from Lake Woebegone, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average."

If Keillor were still hosting this radio show today, I wonder if he would repeat these sentiments, given the changes that have taken place in Minneapolis.
