The US position on what is going on in Syria: Syria and Russia are taking part in an "military offensive' against Turkey, who has invaded and occupied Syria. What a laugh.

The US, officially, is supporting Turkey in its invasion and occupation in Syria. The statement made by the US ambassador to the UN was so outrageously false it was mind boggling to even consider the statements as factual.

This is Trump's regime position in a world gone mad. I find it all preposterous and diametrically opposed to American values. How does a person square what they say with the reality of the situation on the ground?

It appears to me that the US government is hell bent on starting a war with other nations and a conflict with a nuclear power, and to hell with the rule of law and sound judgment. The US and Turkey have invaded a free nation and occupy it to this day and give aid and comfort to enemies and terrorists of the US. Over 1 million people have fled the Idlib and Aleppo areas in the past year - which was brought on by US and Turkey war policies - and yet the US blames Syria? Syria has invaded no country and has only been defending their own people and their territory from Al Queada and the ISIS head choppers - this is not a crime and certainly not an offensive action against anyone.

This is a prime example how insane US government policies have become. And the public doesn't seem to bat an eye lash to these egregious violations of US Constitutional responsibilities and ethical values trampled on by the politicians in Washington, DC. And yet, I am told that Trump is our only choice to vote for? They are right, in a sense. He is the lesser of two evils. But that realization should give us pause and motivate us to analyze just how far our political system has been degraded. Our leaders, the best money can buy, are operating under ulterior motives for everything they do. They are trained in political subterfuge and skilled in rhetorical double talk - to say what people want to hear, then go and do the opposite. George Eaton
