"In The Beginning Elohim Created....."

Many folks have a hard time with that truth, because the word Elohim is generally translated as God, indicating a Singularity. In fact, the word Elohim in the original language is NEVER singular in sense.

viz: From the Strongs definition--
430 'elohiym (el-o-heem');

plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:

KJV-- angels, X exceeding, God (gods)- dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

and from the Browns-Driver definition:

430 'elohiym-

1) (plural)
a) rulers, judges

b) divine ones
c) angels
d) gods
2) (plural intensive -singular meaning)
a) God, a god, a goddess
b) god-like one
c) works or special possessions of God
d) the one true God
e) God

The PLURAL is most evident in the following:

Gen 1:26
26 And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (KJV)

And yes, of course their spirits are real, as ours are. Not only that, but they are eternal and precious.

One may note, for example, that the phrase "LORD God" does not appear until chapter 2. As it is written, the "first shall be last, and the last first"

and as for 'orbs' being the essence of the Elohim, consider
the Words when The LORD departed..."Behold, I am with you alway, even to the end of the earth"

There are MANY gods, but only One LORD. Some gods are not of the 'convenient' sort, if you get my drift, yet they are all elohim.

Ps 82:6
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (KJV)

Isa 41:23
23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together. (KJV)

John 10:34
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (KJV)

1 Cor 8:5
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (KJV)
