Hi, Folks -

Like Lionel, I remember Sept 11 2001 rather clearly in some ways. It was a beautiful day, I guess all up and down the East Coast - early autumn temperatures and the clearest of clear blue skies. In my case, of course, I was looking forward to the day as my birthday.

Something had me turn on the TV earlier than I would usually have done - and so I was among the many who were first to know what was happening. I rushed to the keyboard to see what has happening at RMN - and stayed there throughout the day, posting threaded messages as the news kept coming in and coming in. (All those posts are gone now because of the Sept 2014 hacker deletions.)

Below, Lionel speaks of how that day brought us all together. And that went beyond America. I remember scenes from the UK, where the people were showing their own dismay and outrage over the event and their own clear sense of standing with America in the wake of it. One item really struck me - Canadians were sending boots for the dogs that were searching through the rubble.
