and when God has determined that the multitudes of bethel christians have become great enough and those Christians who dwell in the Rock have become few enough, that is exactly when the final battle will begin.

Christians think of bethel as 'the house of god' and have indeed made it a house of many gods
Gen 28:19
19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.(KJV)

and truly, that place, that piece of dirt, was the very place he later buried the 'household gods' that Rachel had stolen from Laban. That's very instructive for the few that see.

Though bethel became for christians 'the house of god', It is NOT God's House. Read on:

Gen 28:22
22 And THIS STONE, which I have set for a pillar, shall be GOD'S HOUSE: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. (KJV)

Thus Christians dwell not in bethel, but in the ROCK, the Lord Jesus Christ. for as it is written--

Amos 5:

5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel. (KJV)

The hordes of bethel need to have trodden down the world sufficiently to even the odds. The Word says that 144,000 versus 7 billion should be about right.

And thus 3 1/2 days after the last of the 144,000 witnesses are murdered by the beast, then shall all see the picture clearly.

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
