Islam like all organized religions today has many interpretations and many factions. What is happening in Algeria is not an Islamic uprising because the people are demanding what Americans who woke up are demanding now.

Algeria has never been a theocracy and will never be because of its historical experience and is very different from the rest of the Islamic world. It’s actually a mosaic of cultures and languages linked to the basics of the Quran which is not much different from the Bible if you read the Chapters revealed in Mecca. Genital mutulations and other inhumanly unacceptable practices are not part of the Quran and no violence is allowed except at the extreme of self defense like you have it in America.

Keep your eyes on Algeria and you will learn something in your lifetime and don’t be arrogant like many westerners who think they are better than all other human beings,
