FYI, my sister was hooked on diet Coke - she drank it all day long, tried to quit once and found she couldn't - and, yes, eventually was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mastectomy and radiation treatments soon followed. Her health began to slide at that point, including ailments that may possibly have been initiated or worsened by the radiation.

We believe the end of her living was brought about by a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Yet "smoking" was listed as cause of death. One has to wonder about the accuracy of any published "cause of death" statistics.

While this article by Dr. Woodrow Monte was published in 2008, the facts are current and its one everybody should read because of the link to breast cancer. In his book, "While Science Sleeps: A Sweetener Kills" he correctly calls aspartame a killing machine. Dr. Morando Soffritti in one of his studies at the Ramazzini Institute on aspartame also proved it causes breast cancer. It goes into some detail about if a woman is pregnant and the baby survives (aspartame is a teratogen) that child can grow up to cancer. While we see the horror of the use of aspartame in the population and almost 100% of scientific peer reviewed studies prove the problems, the FDA goes ahead and approves another aspartame product, Advantame. Be safe, read labels and spread the word.

The breast is an organ with no way to protect itself from formaldehyde(216) with no means to render it harmless. The methanol, always produced when Aspartame is consumed (20,51),will convert directly into formaldehyde, there is no intermediate compound or alternate path(7,30). “Class I Alcohol dehydrogenase” ADH is required for the conversion of methanol to formaldehyde(112). ADH is not a common enzyme in the human body, not many cells in the human body contains this enzyme. The human breast is one of the few organs in the body with a high concentration of ADH(190b) and it is found there exclusively in the mammary epithelial cells, the very cells known to transform into adenocarcinoma(190c) (breast cancer) cells with very low aldehyde dehydrogenase activity(216).
