Chant and riddle and foretell…
Omens…Signs in the Air,
In the Stars…in the Clouds of the Sky…

Change is coming, change must come.

Look into the past and see the

Dare to break them and chase a Dream.

Is history worth? They are mere words

Nor eye can see beyond present suffering.
Suffering is always worse in the present.

Voice must speak in the present to
Say it…Dare to challenge thinking
Or fall into an abyss. Some things
Never change…” He turned to her as

Effortlessly strong. “Would you move

“We have discussed this.” Ceres said eyeing

Varence smiled and slowly turned
Forward, eyes to eyes, then stared firmly
At the notebook. “The written word,
The weight and measure of its meaning.
In every corner of civilizations across
The Stars, they write words down to
Record anything and everything…and
Yet they still forget…Memories of
The heart, the soul and mind…tales
Of woe, of sorrow…of loss…literary
Meanderings…epics, poems…songs,
Diaries…Notes of love…Notes to
Remember…Scientific Breakthroughs,
Formulas…theories, unsolved puzzles…
And History, of course History.
And still they forget…

Why do they bother to record
Things if they forget? Is that an
Accident or a coincidence? Now
That’s a riddle.

History will tell stories so grand…
And yet so familiar. Were these
Struggles so rare they never happened
Before. Times of change, of New Kings
And Old Warriors. Of Victories and
Broken promises…and schemes hidden,
With events to bind and or conceal
Them. Of course, each is so unique
They never happened before. The
Written word always tells of this…of
How easy it was, and how everyone
Rejoiced at change.” He grinned, he
Was being sarcastic.

“Tell a tale of An Empire,
Of its rise and fall…Were they
Happy? Someone surely wasn’t
If it ended…And surely weren’t
When it began. To make everyone
Happy is impossible…To do what
Is right has nothing to do with
Making everyone happy…Right
Has its own set of rules…it is
Often cruel to be kind…and blind
To be just. The wisest know this,
Which is why they speak so carefully.

Ages ago when the Watchers saw
Worlds rise with civilizations the
Eyes learned as much as the ears
Did, but the heart was often overlooked.
For when kingdoms rise, power
Overcomes them…caste systems grow
And shape things…and right and
Wrong quickly become a Myth…
That is why guides intervene to
Whisper reminders…then the promises
Begin…And time just slides on…
Guilt fades to the weak, the
Rich become strong…and the lost
Become citizens. No one is ever
Happy…Not from the highest to
The very low…They merely promise,
Indulge…Stay busy, and again
Time marches on…Years become
Decades, then centuries, then
Eras…then millennia…Civilizations
Come and go…Rulers rise and fall,
And all those little memories are
Forgotten. Were they happy? NO…
They just keep busy, kept hoping
And waiting…complaining, wishing,
Praying…chasing the moment and
Above all pretending that time
Does not exist…
Because if time does exist, then
Every present moment has the
Weight of a thousand decisions…
And who has time to sort out that?
All that manner of right and
Wrong…That’s what laws are for…
That’s what Leaders are for…And
Then they can be blamed for
Everything.

The Truth that no one can
Handle or accept is that everyone
Instinctively knows what
Is right and what is wrong…they
Just can not accept the reality
Of what it means for them…
Equality is the ideal…but some
Just can’t accept equality…And
In truth while they do deserve it
Naturally…their behavior says
Otherwise. Some just can’t accept
NO as an answer…They want everything
To say yes…give me, I want, I
Need…And when those wishes and
Prayers go unanswered, or rather
Unfulfilled…The Nature of the
Beast is revealed…or rather
Unmasked…then right and
Wrong fall to pitiful definitions.
And someone else is always to
Blame…then the demands grow.
Sing a song, write an Epic,
Record History…Does it matter?
The debates of what or who is
Right or wrong will never end.
Has it happened before? Countless
Times…Was there suffering
Before…Of course…Did they
Learn from it? Some will, some
Won’t…and some will twist it
Into words ten different ways to
Weigh it in their favor…

Right or Wrong…The true
Never ending debate…The Quest.
Yet when it happens, the Right
Thing…Someone else will always
Argue it’s wrong…Because if it’s
Not in their favor, it’s wrong. It
Has always been this way…And
Perhaps it always will.”

“He states the obvious.” Ceres
Groaned, then pinched her eyes closed.
“The words to say and hear…This is
His message? To state the obvious
Now?”

“Mindful reminders.” Varence nodded
With a laugh. “When it is needed, that
Is what I do…” He held up his forefinger

Ceres froze, her eyes went wide
Instantly, her expression undefinable.

“You must.” He calmly insisted.

“I will not.” She practically growled
The words. “How is that relevant
For this moment? Amidst a craze,
An inferno? My…no I WILL not
Share that.”

“I won’t.” She laughed in protest.

With a kinder nod. “For him.”

Her eyes seemed to glaze over
As though she were trapped. A
Strained silence…An intensity
Filled the air, their emotions
Were tangible more than usual…as
If the power, the force of some
Secret emotion was building the
Intensity…

The eyes and mind become a
Door then…The White Wall…
Too Much Intensity building…
White…The Blinding Flash…
Eyes see only white…The mind
And senses determine Wall…
Senses and memories become gears…
Then sound, the deafening roaring…
Sound of Thunder gives words
Autonomous locomotion. The White
Wall…

Something Comes…Stars unmask…
The chance, Fever Fury warns…
Events building…Eyes can not
See…but the senses know…
