Washington and EU Version of Crimea's 'Annex' Is a Lie - Crimea's People Voted Overwhelmingly in 2014 to Join Russia
There was no 'annex' of Crimea by Russia.
The people of Crimea, a people of predominately Russian decent, requested to re-join the Russian Federation by a vast majority referendum vote in 2014.
This is yet another case of the Western destroyer class refusing to adhere to the will of a foreign people, if that will does not fit the multinational agenda of the Western Destroyer Class.
As usual, the talking head CNN hack Christiane Amanpour is full of crap.

Crimea's parliament voted unanimously in favor of formally seceding from Ukraine and becoming part of Russia.
According to RIA news agency, the text of the law said that the Ukrainian peninsula agreed "to enter into the Russian Federation with the rights of a subject of the Russian Federation."
Russia's lower hour of legislature is now considering annexation of Crimea.
There will be a regionwide referendum on March 16.
Crimea comprises 60% ethnic Russians.
The region's parliament stated that the autonomous republic was seceding "as a the result of the unconstitutional coup," which is how Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the ouster of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and the installation of a pro-EU interim government.
The Kremlin-friendly officials also pushed forward the date for the vote again from the original date of May 25.
Crimea's government was dismissed after armed gunman took over the strategic Black Sea peninsula.
Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov , who heads a political party called Russian Unity, subsequently took over the new government.
Yesterday, new Ukrainian Prime Minister said that Crimea would remain part of Ukraine.
A Ukrainian minister tells Reuters today that the planned referendum would be illegitimate.
Russian troops with uniforms without insignia and mercenaries control Crimea still surround all key Ukrainian military facilities and have urging Ukrainian soldiers to defect.
The move by Crimea's new government is a slap to the West and it's "off-ramp" strategy to de-escalate the situation. Here's Sweden Foreign Minister Carl Bildt's reaction:
Crimea vote today in occupied parliament obviously escalates the crisis. EU appeal on Monday for de-escalation steps wasn't heard.

Crimea referendum: early results indicate 'landslide' for secession – as it happened
Sunday 16 March 2014 18.36 EDT
Summary
We’re going to wrap up our live blog coverage for the day.
Here’s a summary of where things stand:
• Partial results indicate more than 90% of Crimeans favor secession, according to an election official via RIA Novosti. Crimean officials say turnout was 83%. Revised numbers are expected late tonight.
• Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama spoke by phone, with the White House saying it would ‘never recognize’ the referendum. The Russian president, however, insisted to his American counterpart that the vote accords to international law, adding that “ultra-nationalists and radical groups” threaten Russian “compatriots” in Ukraine.
• The White House condemned Russia’s “dangerous and destabilizing” actions and called the vote “illegal”, as did the EU and several European nations. The US statement warned Russia that it faces “increasing costs”.
• Ukraine’s acting PM Arseny Yatseniuk vowed to apprehend separatists ”under the cover of Russian troops” and “bring them to justice”. He said: “the ground will burn beneath their feet.”
