Many thanks to Hal for his response and to MrFusion for posting it... :)

I've been doing some research as well, and ran into the same kind of results as MrFusion for 'Didit'. So, I changed my research strategy and began searching for Native American Demons.

That's how I found Dzoavits, and one site describes it as an "earthquake demon" - which would fit, since the photo was taken in the aftermath of a huge earthquake.
