Turkey said it is not on the side of any force in Syria after French President Emanuel Macron declared that the joint action of Washington, London and Paris was shared by Ankara and Moscow.

"Turkey's policy in Syria is not to be with someone, nor to be against someone. Our policy is clear, it's about being on the side of the law and what is right," Turkish government spokeswoman Bekir Bozdag said, Turkish media reported.

Bozdag stressed that Turkey is against "regime-backing" (in Syria) countries like Russia, but also against "support to terrorist organizations", including the Kurdish militia supported by Washington and other Western countries in the fight against ID.

The Elysee Palace said last night that Macron wants to "intensify" the consultations with Turkey in order to pursue a political solution in Syria. Macron thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for supporting joint military action in the regime's goals in Syria.
