Russian MiGs 31 on duty with hypersonic missiles "Kinzhal"
On March 10, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (MORF) announced that the crew of the MiG-31 Air Force of the Russian Air Force (VKS) carried out a practical combat training launch of the hypersonic missile of the high-precision airborne missile complex "Kinzal" that the launch was successful and that the missile on the polygon hit the pre-selected target. It was also specified that the departure of a hunter-interceptor was carried out from the airport in the territory of the South Military District within the framework of the conduct of the trial-combat duty.
Pre-flight inspection of planes and missiles.
A definitive confirmation that the Russians introduce the weaponry of the air-to-earth / sea airborne weapon that can best be used on the MiG-31 interceptor. It is possible that these missiles will receive other types of Russian combat aircraft.
As further stated in the MORF, after obtaining the results of the launch, it was possible to confirm the tactical and technical characteristics and weather indicators of the Kinzal system. Thanks to the high flight technical capabilities of the MiG-31, a hypersonic aeroballistic rocket of a small radar reflection and high maneuverability, the Kinzal complex currently has no analogue in the world.
It has also been added that from the beginning of the year, according to the plan of combat training of crews performing the duty-testing with this new aviation complex, more than 250 take-offs have been carried out and that the flight composition is fully capable of working day and night in various weather conditions.
This announcement, which was accompanied by videos and photographs, was confirmed that Russia really has on-duty combat aircraft with hypersensitive missiles (5 mega missiles) that can act on clues on land and sea. This was somewhat earlier, on March 1, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced in a speech to the Federal Assembly, which showed and videoed the cadres from the testing of a new complex called "Kinzal" (dagger). Putin then discovered that since December 1 last year, at the airports of the South Military District, the system was in an open-air combat duty.
The head of the Russian state also noted that the hypersensitive rocket (assumed that the H-47M2 mark) of the Kinzhal complex is guaranteed to be able to break through all existing anti-aircraft and missile defense systems, and to target targets at distances up to 2000 km with nuclear or ordinary warhead. Russian officials said over the next few days that the rocket had a speed of as much as 10 times the speed of sound, and that it was covertly unmanageable for radar. It should also be noted that many military experts believe that the missile that was seen on MiG 31 is very much resembling that it is actually a variant of the Iskander rocket-ground system.
Interestingly, the bottom part of the aircraft was blurred on the video, it is possible not to see a rocket launcher system.
Based on the available video footage and photographs as well as information from Russian military forums, it has been established that the MiG-31 airplanes with these missiles are given in 929. The State Annual Experimental Center of the Air Force of Russia, bearing the name of VP Chkalov, and located at Ahtubinsk airport. During Putin's address to the assembly on video personnel, a MiG-31BM passenger plane 592 belonging to RSK MiG could be seen.
In the Ahtubinsk, two MiG-31 planes could be seen in video frames and on pictures of the on-screen display and missile launch, which represent a new variant of this interceptor, probably based on the modernized MiG-31BM. These are examples with the numbers 91 and 93 of which are red for which the designation of the version to which they belong is still uncertain. One of the interesting details found on these planes is the new antenna in front of a windscreen that is considered to be used to share data with satellites. Earlier, in the same configuration, two more such aircraft were detected. numbers 92 and 94. Interestingly mentioned, 4 aircraft do not have subtle air-air rocket carriers.
