Any halfway decent manager knows that if policies aren’t enforced and follow up conducted to make sure they are being enforced in the manner they were intended, they essentially don’t exist or don’t exist as written.

Oversight is critical in any operation and it’s particularly vital when trying to turn around an operation, even more so when making a transition from one philosophy to another, competing one. That’s what President Trump is attempting to do with our government in general and border security specifically.

Border enforcement mandates are diametrically opposed to the Obama open borders way of doing things. Particularly since President Trump has not replaced the vast majority of the Obama leadership, the failure to force them to cooperate means that things will continue as they were under the anti-American, anti-sovereignty regime of the previous eight years.

Add to that the fact that President Trump has nominated an open borders, pro-amnesty establishment tool to be the new head of DHS and one has to wonder what really is going on in this administration. Is America first a reality or was it a deceptive sales pitch?

As of Wednesday catch and release is back for illegals caught entering the United States at two border stations. Border Patrol agents were told not to bother turning the captured illegals in for processing due to a lack of bed space. Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council and an agent as well, said, the number of illegals is once again surging.

Judd said, “We’re going to have to release them out our front door. Even if we try to turn them over to them, they’re just not going to take them.” He said the ICE San Antonio office is now refusing to accept families and will soon be turning away all of the apprehended illegals. He found out later Wednesday that the same situation exists in the El Paso office.

Management isn’t a government strong point, but if they’ve got a backlog the solution is to eliminate the cause. If you’re not processing fast enough, do what you have to do to speed it up. If that means calling out the National Guard, shifting duties, or just increasing the workload of the judges, eliminating some of the moronic “rights” and legal representation they’ve been given, do it.

Maybe loading them straight into buses and bypassing the whole induction process is the answer or processing them during the bus ride. Maybe letting them sleep on the floor, still an improvement over the desert or stash house they encountered on their trespassing trek, is the solution. Turning them loose into our streets is not the answer.

Judd said, “The moment we start releasing them out our front door you’re going to see a huge increase take place in the numbers coming across.” But as the Trump policies continued to not be enforced, the invaders found out that beyond tough talk at the top, things hadn’t really changed.

He said, “The word got back to all of these countries that hey, the catch-and-release hasn’t ended. The people that are supposed to be enforcing President Trump’s policy, they’re just not. They’re not following through on the promises he made.”

Chris Crane, the president of the National ICE Council, sent a letter to President Trump this week advising the President that his top people are not telling him the real story of what’s happening at the border.

Crane wrote, “While officers view the President’s position on enforcement as courageous, the Trump administration has left all of the Obama managers and leadership in place, a group that ICE Officers know after the last eight years to be completely incompetent, corrupt and anti-enforcement.” He sought better means of communicating directly with the President.

Crane said, “Obama holdovers are still running the program, running the show, we’re putting ourselves right back into the same situation we were under the Obama administration.” Just like at the DOJ, FBI, State Department and intelligence agencies, until the Obama holdovers, with few exceptions, are dumped like the trash that they are, the Obama business as usual will continue.

The oversight that is needed does not exist and simply telling corrupt swamp creatures we’re going to go back to the right and legal way of doing things means nothing.
