I applaud General for bringing to Congress's attention that it is a 'long-standing Department of Justice Practice' to hold all internal DOJ matters as Confidential. Sessions implies that now its time for this doubtful practice to be eliminated..

Really, DOJ was always breaking a law. As are all Corporations
who hide Criminality behind Confidentiality Agreements.

18 US Code 1512

(b) Whoever knowingly uses intimidation, threatens, or corruptly persuades another person, or attempts to do so, or engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to—
..

(3) hinder, delay, or prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer or judge of the United States of information relating to the commission or possible commission of a Federal offense or a violation of conditions of probation [1] supervised release,,[1] parole, or release pending judicial proceedings;

shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.

The other parts of 1512 below, apply specifically to past conduct by DOJ department members. DOJ, FBI, PENTAGON not pursuing investigations for political reasons or using the now discredited excuse of 'national security', whose true meaning is to prevent Crimes which damage or gravely damage the integrity of a Government.

ONE YEAR AMNESTY

All currrent or former Prosecutors, and White House/Executive Branch employees or contractors have one year to report knowledge of all crimes up the chain of command or face your own consequences.
