Germany, the homeland of some of the largest automotive companies, has adopted a law that allow on German roads the so-called autonomous vehicles or vehicles without a driver, now for testing purposes.

The upper house of the German parliament passed a law that sets out the conditions under which these vehicles can come out on German roads. Under the new law, drivers will have to sit behind the wheel at all times, ready to take control if necessary.
