The web of corruption and dishonesty that permeates the government that President Trump inherited is exposed as being more and more insidious with every passing revelation. As if the odd behavior of FBI Director Comey over the past few months wasn’t enough, it seems that every subsequent revelation meets the same low standards of professionalism, integrity and independence in bureau leadership – none.

According to revelations spearheaded by Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), today’s head scratcher is the hiring by the FBI of the former British Spy, Christopher Steele, who was the author of the widely discredited and controversial opposition research dossier on President Trump. That was the notorious hookers urinating on the bed report that was widely panned as salacious fiction created on behalf of President Trump’s adversaries and nothing more. It’s the same document that RINO John McCain delivered to Comey Personally, putting his personal anti-Trump stamp of approval on it.

Senator Grassley finds the arrangement troubling and on Monday wrote to Director Comey asking for answers. He’s requested all of the records pertaining to any agreements between the agency and Steele.

The Washington Post reported in late February that the FBI had contracted with Steele for his investigation to continue on their behalf. The liberal rag Post reasoned, “While Trump has derided the dossier as ‘fake news’ compiled by his political opponents, the FBI’s arrangement with Steele shows that the bureau considered him credible and found his information, while unproved, to be worthy of further investigation.”

Grassley wants to know what’s going on. He wrote, “The idea that the FBI and associates of the Clinton campaign would pay Mr. Steele to investigate the Republican nominee for President in the run-up to the election raises further questions about the FBI’s independence from politics, as well as the Obama administration’s use of law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political ends.”

“It is additionally troubling that the FBI reportedly agreed to such an arrangement given that, in January of 2017, then-Director Clapper issued a statement stating that ‘the [intelligence community] has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable, and we did not rely upon it in any way for our conclusions.’”

The Hill reports that Grassley has requested “all records regarding Steele’s investigation, details of the agreement between the FBI and Steele, the FBI’s policies for using outside investigators, and whether the bureau has relied on any of the information Steele has provided in seeking warrants.”

President Trump needs to himself and all of us a favor and kick Comey to the curb as well as the countless other traitors to this nation that occupy high level offices in the executive branch. There are plenty of patriotic Americans in service to this nation in various state agencies who would welcome the opportunity to become FBI Director or to hold similar positions in other agencies. There are likely good people within the ranks and file of the agency as well.

Comey was a political hack appointee and he’s still a political hack. He was on the board of HSBC Holdings, the bank that Loretta Lynch let off the hook for its substantial international money laundering, without putting a single individual behind bars, when he was tapped to be FBI Director. A pillar of integrity he is not but he was perfect for the Obama White House.

The more contact with the swamp that President Trump and a few honest politicians such as Grassley uncover, the thicker it gets and the more rancid the stench becomes. It sure looks like Comey and his political comrades are hunting for dirt, desperate to find it anywhere they can. Maybe Jimmy boy has big plans for when Obama returns to the public sphere. President Trump needs to cancel those.
