For those that ridicule others: Beliefs Are Not Facts

Beliefs Are Not Facts
And Our Beliefs are Not the Measure of What Others
Should Believe

It seems we all need a reminder from time to time. There is a phrase used by almost everyone. This phrase is a whole two words long. The phrase is “I believe”.

Everyone has beliefs and that is fine and appropriate. We all grow up in different households with different parents that were taught different things by their parents. What happens is people begin to think of their beliefs are facts and therefore everyone else should adhere to the same life guidelines as they do. That would be fine if we all agreed what those guidelines are. However, I don't know what your beliefs are anymore than I know my sister's and we grew up in the same house.

The point of this post is that recently (like yesterday) Mr. Ed, one of our regular posters had posted some articles that at least a couple of agents decided to take issue with. For one thing, in my opinion it is not alright to tear down the credibility of another agent especially when the post was not even written by that posting agent. The reality is just because an agent posts one thing that agent might actually believe something else. It may be that the agent (any RMN agent) just finds the article posted of interest to themselves and therefore may be interesting and thought provoking to readers. Many people enjoy reading diverse opinions on topics that interests them in general. Some people, on the other hand believe that everyone should believe as they do. That might be great if beliefs were facts. More on that in minute.

We as group of people, that span the world, reading Rumor Mill News stories, are looking for information. It doesn't matter what kind of information but some people desire, strongly desire, to know everything they can about certain subjects that appear on RMN. Others choose not to read articles because a particular subject offers no appeal or they have a bias. The question is how do our readers go about choosing what to read about? The answer is they have a desire to read more and learn more than what they presently know. This is healthy. However, those that do not choose to read a certain article may do so because the “headline” was not inviting to them. Other's decide before even reading that they know everything about the subject and they would just be wasting their time. Rarely, does anyone know everything about anything. And going back to the opening comment about growing up in different households also plays a large part in the decision to read or not to read.

The problem we have entered into, here on RMN, is that a few agents have decided they know everything and that their opinion should be believed above all others. That is a great deal like your 6th grade teacher telling the students you will read “War and Peace” and YOU WILL LIKE IT, because she did. Bottom line here is we all grew up in different homes. I have known Agent Mr. Ed for a long time now. What I can say about him is he has an insatiable desire to learn everything about how this planet really works and he does an absolute fantastic job of finding new information worth of consideration for readers that have a desire to learn and understand. Those that are readers or agents can take them and read them or disregard them. Mr. Ed could care less what decision others make about the posts he deems “just available for one's consideration.” But we still have agents that would belittle another human being because they do not believe the way another agent believes. But, to reiterate, we all grew up in different homes and we all have different drives that make us desire, and even hunger for new information, or we don't.

Finally, as I promised, our beliefs are not facts. Beliefs are at best a maybe. Facts are things that most will agree on. For example, the sky without clouds is blue. That is one fact we can all agree upon. But, stating I believe the sky will be blue in the morning when I wake up is not a fact. Why not? Well, it depends upon what time one wakes up. Too early and the sky is dark blue to black. An hour or so later at sunrise it may be mostly orange. And finally at 10 AM it becomes blue if the forecaster didn't blow another forecast. You see the point? Beliefs like there will be no ascension because it didn't happen is a belief. And those that base beliefs on past performance may be surprised. To stand at the platform and watch the ascension train pull out of the station with out you, based on a belief, might be the worst mistake you ever made. On the other hand, I'll still allow there may be no ascension and those that believe that are correct.

Finally, the hard thing for many is to allow the other person to have their beliefs. When one's beliefs are so ingrained in them that they take them as facts and ridicule others for not believing the way they do, the chances are that they do harmful damage to others without that intention. The best course of action is keep your beliefs to one's self simply because differences of opinions exist and it just isn't pleasant to make one party feel badly of themselves just because one's view of life here on earth is not the same. We all need to be left to ourselves to believe as best we can based on the information we have read, watched and heard. No one is judge or jury for another being. We just don't have the same inputs. Like it or not, we may be higher on the learning curve than another, or we may not. And if we deem we are, but in reality we are not, we become the fool. Therefore, we all need to learn, listen, and log in the information we read, hear or watch until the consensus is that that information IS a fact. We simply have to accept others ability to find their own level. Be that high or low. Let others be themselves and don't try to belittle others in front of others like junior high shool kids. It isn't becoming nor loving, and we all need our space to grow, even if we don't realize we have growing to do. Beliefs are not facts, give the other person room to be who they are. Isn't that what we all expect for ourselves?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

CapnGriff
