US President-elect Donald Trump chose the head of ExxonMobil Rex Tillerson as a future head of American diplomacy, writes New York Times.

"I announced who will be the new Secretary of State tomorrow morning," wrote Trump on Monday night on Twitter. The media, including the New York Times, Washington Post and NBC News, reported that the real estate mogul decided to Tillerson, director of the American multinational oil and gas companies, after a long search for the head of the diplomacy.

There have been eight or nine candidates for the post, including former CIA Director David Petraeus, former Ambassador to the UN John Bolton and Senator Bob Corker. On that list was once the Trump critic, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who gave the indication that Facebook is no longer among the candidates shortly after Trump said he would soon officially announce their selection.
