Girls blew themselves apart at a market in Nigeria, 17 dead

At least 17 people died in a suicide bombing at a market in the town of Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria, that was performed by two girls.

One of the witnesses of the attack, a member of the local civilian militia, said that girls-bombers had "seven or eight years," and that at the point of attack they come in rickshaw. The witness said that he thought that the girls were looking for their mother, which is why he tried to talk to them.

He added that one of them came to the seller of poultry and activated the belt with explosives, while the other one blew up herself while locals tried to help wounded from first explosion.

According to officials of the local emergency agency immediately after the attack there werre found the bodies of 17 people, as well as the bodies of girls who had carried out the attack.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is believed that behind it are jihadist terrorist of group Boko Haram, which often uses women and girls for suicide attacks against civilians.

Northeast Nigeria in recent weeks been hit by a series of terrorist attacks, especially the city of Maiduguri in Nigeria's Borno state.
