There is a cat disorder called FLUTO, which is feline lower urinary tract condition. Not necessarily an infection, but caused more by a lack of (or excess of) certain minerals/vitamins. Check around for a vet who is in to natural treatments. Mine had me take him off of wet food especially fish and add A SMALL bit of organic coconut oil to dry food, as well as cutting food rations in half on alternate days.

Temporarily try mixing wet food with extra water and moving the waterbowl well away from his food bowl and near the litterbox. sounds wierd, i know but it helped for me.

No water, no poop. No poop, irritated kitty and frustrated parents.
