Following the historic 1960 Kennedy-Nixon debates and election, MAD magazine published an issue that was half upside-down and had two covers. The nominal front cover congratulated Nixon on winning the election. The upside-down back cover congratulated Kennedy on his win. :)

One effect of this was to fool some folks, myself included, into buying two copies of the issue. Seeing two different covers at the newsstand was what did it. I assumed (at age 11) that there were two completely different issues, with differing content. I'd feel sure I wasn't the only one. :)

Things moved more slowly in 1960 than they do today. Obviously the issue had been planned and prepared _before_ election day, so that it would be on the newsstands around the time the results of the actual election would be being made known, thus giving the appearance of a real-world scoop by MAD no matter how things turned out. :)
