These are unusually synchronistic questions! When the dreambot was sick yesterday, I went looking around for a temporary replacement while the programmer was looking for solutions. By the way, the original author of this bot was Grady over at www.nostracodeus.com The NDC converted what he uses to scour the non-dreaming websites for word usage.

Anyway, when the bot was pseudo-down, it was a chance for me to see all various linguistics programs that are out there, and there are quite a few! However, none of them that I could find actually did the very basic thing that Grady's program does....easy collection at the push of a button.

You mentioned copying and pasting (probably sort of like Microsoft's Onenote collection process), and that just won't work because of the sheer amount of dream pages that need to be scanned.

The DreamBot itself does little in the way of analysis; it's more of a collection algorithm. However, the initiation of a sort of dream corpus has spawned an ability to open all kinds of new linguistics doors, and some of the programs you talked about may have to be employed to maximize the data we're collecting.

What is the DreamBot? It's a crawler that collects words and phrases around the net and compiles them into various sets, themes, or even phrases. Although the NDC has been around for years, the current mission has changed drastically since Chris McCleary took over in early 2014. I don't think the world has ever seen the combination of dream content and dream linguistics, but the results in 2014 really do suggest that there are many promising rewards in that combination.
