If consciousness (life) ISN’T about adventures in new realities, what is it about?

If life IS as some religions (theologies) teach: “Conquer your weaknesses and become less sinless– more morale,” or as some other’s teach: “Believe ... and you are saved”, what happens to spirits when some have conquered some sins and others have not, but are saved none-the-less?

So you are dead, are saved, and anticipating your next existence.

Has your nature changed? Apparently somewhat (for they who are less sinless) and not so much for they who were saved by grace. So with your “new or not so new” nature, what do you expect....what do you need, want and desire?

If you say, “Whatever God wants?” (well....you could have said THAT while alive and strived for it (and maybe you did) but since there are no sinless people, according to some teachings, you’re probably going to desire pretty much what you desire now, UNLESS God changes your nature for you, OR, places you in a “heaven” where there are no temptations.

With that said, perhaps life ISN’T about becoming moral creatures.

But let’s say it is. YOU are now “sinless” (whether by works or grace or both). What are you wanting out of life with your new nature? Perhaps your new nature is literally DOING the “love others as yourself” (total unselfishness). That would be heaven. And so you’re in heaven....doing what? Enjoying life more fully. Enjoying a new adventure.

Because of THE PLAN (let’s say it is THE PLAN as some theologies teach) God offers you (because of your changed nature) to become a “Father & Mother” (mini-gods) to a new world He wants populated. THAT WOULD BE AN ADVENTURE FOR SURE.

Of course all the above is assuming there is a God and that He has a plan for man (whether to dwell in heaven...forever, or ... from heaven create and populate new worlds).

If there is an after-earth-life, meaning consciousness continues, then it would be kinda nice to have something to do...which, if it isn’t boring and mundane, would be an adventure, meaning, doing something that “excites” your consciousness and motivates you to continue living eternally.

Now you could say, “Don’t worry about it...it’ll be just fine.” But on the other hand, it is written, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD...”

Perhaps common sense, logic, reasoning (and thus thinking) are not anti-thesis to religious teachings. And hope, belief, faith and feelings have their place, and my take on them is: Hope, belief, faith and feelings are tools to gain knowledge, understanding and wisdom and not substitutes for them (just wondering on a Friday evening before we get bombed and helter-skeltered into another adventure ). nem.
