BELGRADE - The newly elected Israeli Ambassador to Serbia Alona Fisher Kam told that Israel has not changed its position on non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo and said to be working on additional improvement of relations with Serbia, especially in the economy.

"I'll say very clearly, our position has not changed, and that is the non-recognition of Kosovo," said Fisher Kam for "Blic".

On the question of whether they can further improve relations between Serbia and Israel, she said that the idea is of how exceptional relations convert to the steps that will bring good to both countries.

"In the first place the economy and I think the potential is really big. We're trying to determine what are the best areas for research and cooperation - innovation, knowledge sharing, agriculture and technology," said Fisher Kam.

As another important area for Israel, she pointed tourism, stating that the country would wish that more tourists visit and expressed his satisfaction that some Israeli charter company to introduce a direct flight to Belgrade.

Asked whether Serbia can, like Israel, to maintain good relations with Moscow and Washington and will have to choose one side amabasador said she does not think that states have to decide for one side or the other, citing as an "excellent example": Israel.

Asked whether there is specific cooperation between Serbian and Israeli intelligence, ambassador said she can not talk about specific cooperation, but that "certainly there all the time are channels with Serbia and all other friendly countries."

The ambassador declined to comment on whether she sees Serbia in the EU, but she told that she, as a diplomat, she wants a lot of success whatever path Serbia chooses.
