Russia, the Su-33 ready for the ISIS: the squadron embarked on Kuznetsov will receive a new targeting system

The Sukhoi Su-33 Russian Navy will receive the sighting system air-ground SVP-24. This is what communicates the Russian Defense Ministry.

The entire squadron Su-33 of the Admiral Kuznetsov, consisting of 24 aircraft, will receive the upgrade that will test in battle against the Islamic Republic by next month.

Within the next four weeks, the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will travel to the eastern Mediterranean and fight against the Islamic State.

The carrier will be operating with its battle group, not far from the Syrian coast, so as to allow the embarked air group to complete all planned military activities. The squadron of the Russian aircraft carrier will coordinate with the room's air force base in Hmeymim.

The Russian General Staff has already confirmed the number of the carrier air carrier: between 15 fighter Su-33 and MiG-29K / KUB and ten Ka-52K helicopters, Ka-27 and Ka-31.

The pointing device SVP-24 is produced by the Russian company Gefest and T: brings more precision in the release phase of unexploded conventional. The Su-33, designed for the air superiority having been developed by Su-27, it has limited air-to-ground capabilities.

The company Gefest and T has installed the new SVP-24 on three Su-33. The SVP-24 calculates the optimum point for the conventional dell'ordigno release according to the position of the airplane, the destination, the speed, the wind direction and other variables.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the targeting computer has increased by three times the precision of previous guidance systems installed on Su-24M (pictured right). The pointing device SVP-24 is currently equipping the Su-24M, Su-25SM3 and Tu-22M3.

The Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will be in battle against the Islamic Republic for four months. Flight activities will continue until next month to January. After patrolling in the Mediterranean, Kuznetsov will enter dry dock for reconstruction works of the entire flight deck, with replacement of the coating and the take-off and landing system. Such interventions, set for early 2017, will last three years.
