In the recent article about Google Play, Delete Google Maps? Go ahead, says Google, we'll still track you, Google Play Services still knows about your location even if you turned off the Location in your Android phone's Location menu.

I tested it here on a tablet. Even with Location turned off in the Android 5.0 menu, the following Google Play services are still running:

If Location isn't turned off, this is the full list of Google Play Services in Android 5.0.

Notice the "AutoSignInWarmWelcomeService" service in the list? After knowing all the Google Play services available, how warm do you feel the welcome was to your phone? It's like inviting a few in-laws over to your house, except you didn't know 433 other cousins were going to show up also.

If you have ROOT access to your phone/tablet and something like SuperSU installed, you can install Disable Service. Disable Service has to be granted superuser privileges in the popup SuperSu menu. Then you can tap the System section in the top menu and see the list of Google Play Services. Your services list will look a little different than mine depending on the phone or Android version.

At some point you can get successful in unchecking all the Google Play Services location tracking using Disable Service. Just remember you may have to go into SuperSu manually to see the popup Grant menu for Disable Service. This irritation probably is avoided by using SuperSu Pro.

If you get a little too uncheck-happy with this Google Play services list in Disable Service, you might see a "Unfortunately Google Play has stopped" pop-up. You might break something in here, so be careful!

Some people might mention installing Xposed for Lollipop/Marshmallow [Android 5.0/5.1/6.0, v86, 2016/07/08], but just how loopy did you expect me to get on my own free time? This is only a tablet I'm using, not a phone. Be careful with the Xposed framework. I applaud all the hoop jumping people do with installing custom ROMs in their phone. I have no need for it personally.
