Serbia decided, accepts the donation Russian arms and military equipment

Why join NATO and the EU, if you intend to use your status in the promotion of national interests? This is a provocative question that would ask any leading Croatian politician in the past decade.
Global circumstances have dramatically changed since Croatian independence, and today the Southeast Europe is a new battleground in the Cold War. Russia clashes with the West using the "soft power" approach: pro-Russian media, NGOs and energy companies. Another extremely valuable article in the same context is our home page, a text by Aleksandra Radic, the most renown military analyst in the space of former Yugoslavia, who from Belgrade reported on the potential contents and scope of significant donations of Russian military technique to Serbia. It is obvious that the official Belgrade, in spite of all the cooperation they have with NATO, strategically aligns itself with Moscow. What will happen next, we will know after the visit of Russian Prime Minister Medvedev in October, when it will be known what exactly the Army of Serbia received from Russian ally.

In this issue we finish analyzing the Long Term Development Plan of Croatian Military Forces for the next period from the perspective of the needs of the Croatian Navy. Retired Commodore Marin Stosic warns that even the intentions of equipping and modernization of the just expired Long Realisation Plan, and provides a number of proposals in order to achieve higher efficiency and better protection of the Adriatic against all threats.

When we speak about missed opportunities, we bring and display potentials of Croatian Military Force training foreign pilots - in short, we have aircraft, trainers and ideally located base, but do not have a systematic plan for attracting international users.

From world events we single out the news from Russia - part of the units returns to the divisional structure, the old Soviet approach, which was temporarily replaced by a structure more similar to that of NATO troops. Contemporary modular structure of NATO troops intended asymmetric conflicts and other modern challenges, while the army's divisional structure is better suited for a wider conventional conflicts.
This speaks volumes about where thoughts of Russian strategic planners are focused.
