U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (via satellite) will keynote this year’s annual Saban Forum, taking place Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 7 at the Willard Hotel in DC, the organizers announced Monday.

The Saban Forum is an annual dialogue between American and Israeli leaders from across the political and social spectrum, organized by Haim Saban and the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution. The gathering this year is entitled, “Stormy Seas: The United States and Israel in a Tumultuous Middle East.”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, are also expected to address the forum.

Israel will be represented, in an unprecedented manner, by all of Netanyahu’s coalition partners - Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Finance Minister Yair Lapid, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Economic Minister Naftali Bennett. Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog, Meretz Chairwoman Zehava Gal-On and Minister of Intelligence, International Relations and Strategic Affairs Yuval Steinitz are also expected to attend.

As in past years, the eleventh annual Saban Forum will address these important issues via candid closed-door dialogue between U.S. and Israeli officials, policymakers, journalists, and business leaders. This year’s sessions will focus on the future of the two-state solution, the Iran nuclear negotiations, energy security, and Middle East regional turmoil.

Brookings Vice President for Foreign Policy Martin Indyk, who recently served as Kerry’s envoy to the peace process, remarked, “Israeli-Palestinian tensions, nuclear negotiations with Iran, the rise of the Islamic State and the collapse of order in much of the region present complex challenges to the U.S.-Israel relationship. This is an important moment to discuss the way forward.”
