I got curious when I saw that one of the studies had women eat 22 grams of "freeze dried blueberry powder" per day. Dried blueberry powder? I didn't even know such a thing existed!

22 grams is equivalent to one cup of fresh blueberries according to the article.

A quick (inexhaustive) search found a source selling 1 pound of the blueberry powder available at $36.99.

A pound has 453.592 grams and so has 20.62 22-gram-doses which gives a daily cost of about $1.75 per day for a full blueberry regimen using freeze dried powder ($50.52 per month).

What about using fresh blueberries? My local supermarket has blueberries on sale this week for $3.00 per pint if you buy 2 pints. A pint is 2 cups so that would be cheaper at $1.50 per day, but that is during a summer season sale, so off-season prices would be higher.

I guess one could eat fresh produce in summer and the powder during winter. (I was kind of surprised that the two methods are fairly equivalent in cost!)

The article mentions that WILD blueberries have about twice the effect of bigger supermarket type. I found a source selling freeze dried organic wild blueberries for $17.99 per 4-oz bag or $71.96 per pound. If one only needs half as much, that (oddly) calculates to about the same price as the source mentioned at the top of this post ($36 / pound).
