Looking at the letting of people into the country. In 1964, my cousin from England wanted to come here to work and stay in America. In order for him to do this, my Mother had to have signed documents of employment for him for 2 years, plus a place to live (with us) and he had to bring a certain amount of money with him. Not sure how much he had to bring, but enough to get him to California and to live for a bit.

Since he had grown up on a farm, my Mother got guaranteed work with the local ranchers. He made an incredible impression on them, moved into his own rental within a short time, took flying lessons. Ended up moving to Arizona, doing crop dusting from a small airport, married the granddaughter of the owner and he still lives is Casa Grande.

It seems like we should have similar now, instead of inviting them in and giving them welfare.
