Biography

Carol Saylor-Hefley was born in Seguin, TX moving to Tulsa, OK at the age of 9 yrs. While in high school she was involved in drama, the debate team, show-choir, and was elected President of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). After graduation in May 2007, Carol attended Tulsa Community College as a Tulsa Achieves student. In 2009, she received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Associate Degree in Psychology. She, then, enrolled in the Biotechnology Program, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Biotechnology in the fall of 2012. While in Biotechnology courses at TCC, Carol applied for and received a scholarship through the TABERC organization (Tulsa Area Biology Education Research Consortium), which provided her with an internship and the opportunity to research Morgellons Disease at OSU-CHS. Ms. Hefley was awarded the S-STEM and URM Scholarships that allowed her to graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences from OSU in Dec 2015.
