I like Mexicans and also live in an agricultural area with a heavy migrant population. My problem is those who come here illegally.

Studies have been done that shows when one takes into account the free medical, food stamps, subsidized housing, schooling their kids, criminal activity and subsidized child care,.....when all those are taken into account farm workers could easily be paid upwards $25 an hour. How many legal citizens would line up for a job that paid that wage???

It would be much less expensive for the government to subsidize a farm workers wages and hire locals, than continually bringing in migrants who will work on farms for a couple years and then go to work at another blue color job competing with true citizens for those very jobs. And don't tell me that they work oh so hard. I have worked side by side dozens of them and never a single one could match my work performance.

I guess the answer as to why they would arrest them after they have been here for years is the same reason they would arrest a pedophile or a murder though they have lived crime free for years: They broke the law!!! My advice is to go to you tube and watch the video "immigration by the numbers". That video only speaks of legal immigration. And it's not pretty!!!
