I could immediately see that the Youtuber, Mike Morales was using one of my favorite weather info sites, the Global Wind Map at earth.nullschool.net.

This site shows the hypnotically beautiful movement of winds around the planet. But until I saw the above video I did not realize it could also show such things as carbon monoxide and sulpher dioxide.

Access the controls by clicking on "Earth" at lower left. Sroll-wheel lets you zoom in and out, position the map with left mouse click and drag.

To see the carbon monoxide use the Mode control and click on "chem" -- then use the "Overlay" control to choose COsc for carbon monoxide, CO2sc for carbon dioxide, or SO2sm for sulpher dioxide.

He shows in the video how to change the time with the menu item labeled "Control". You can jump ahead or back in time by 3 hour increments, or by a whole day at a time.

To get a particulate reading for a particular place on the map just left click on that place -- a green circle will appear and the reading will change showing the "ppbv" (Parts per billion by volume) at that place. The worst I am seeing is well over 5000 ppbv compared to a normal of about 100 ppbv in clear areas.

If you make some random jumps around in time you realize that this huge spike in carbon monoxide does indeed appear to be very anomalous.
