If people could see the delight in a hacker’s eyes when they come across an easy target, they might mistake those hackers for an 8-year-old watching Star Wars for the first time. Easy target for hackers are places where it is easier for them to push/inject a high-jacking program onto the victim’s computer. This job can be easily done through a malware.

Enigma Software, the anti-virus firm, released a list of cities where there are most chances of getting a malware infection. However, you need not read too much into the list as there is no correlation between a person’s physical location and malware infection. But, you must be extra careful while visiting such cities and using the public computer or using your flash drives on such computer. The chances of a malware affecting your system increase dramatically if you’re in such cities. So, you just need to be extra careful.

Tampa – Topping the list is Tampa, which has an infection rate 506% higher than the national average. Just be extra careful while accessing your emails on a public system or Wi-Fi network.

Saint Louis – Second on the list is Missouri’s Saint Louis, with an infection rate 392% higher than the national average. Never throw caution out of the window while visiting this city situated along the Mississippi river.

Orlando – Giving a tough competition to the second ranker is “The City Beautiful”, Orlando. With an infection rate 375% higher than the national average, both the residents, as well as the travelers, are going to have a tough time.

Denver – The most populous municipality in Colorado holds the fourth position on the list. The infection rate, here, is 333% higher than the national average.

Atlanta – The capital city of Georgia is 5th on the list with an infection rate 327% higher than the national average.

Newark – There is a steep decline in the rate of infection at this level. The infection rate is 241% higher than the national average.

Salt Lake City – Not close behind is Salt Lake City with 223% higher infection rate than the national average.

Madison – The capital of Wisconsin is 8th on the list with the infection rate 193% higher than the national average.

Cleveland – The city located on the southern shore of Lake Erie stands 9th. The infection rate is 184% higher than the national average.

Cincinnati – The third largest city in Ohio has an infection rate 170% higher than the national average.

Little Rock – The Arkansas capital is just below the midway on this list. The infection rate is 164% higher than the national average.

Washington – Washington’s infection rate is 162% higher than the national average. Not much behind Little Rock on the list.

Miami – The thirteenth ranked city’ infection rate faces a steep decline from its predecessor. The infection rate is 114% higher than the national average.

Raleigh – North Carolina’s capital city is 14th on the list with an infection rate 98% higher than the national average.

Irvine – Not much behind its predecessor is this California city. The infection rate is 96% higher than the national average.

Pittsburgh – With its rate of infection just 87% higher than the national average, Pittsburgh stands at the 16th position.

Buffalo – The infection rate is same as its predecessor on the list. Not a big cause of concern, though.

Minneapolis – The larger of the “Twin Cities”, Minneapolis, has an infection rate 85% higher than the national average.
Richmond – The infection rate is 81% higher than the national average.

Seattle – Ranked the lowest on the list is Seattle with its infection rate 72% higher than the national average. Still a cause of worry for the residents and the travelers.
