The government claims Mr. Finicum "did have a loaded 9mm handgun in his jacket pocket." I have not heard who that pistol was registered to, or if anyone in the group knows where he got it. He was known to carry a revolver in a belt holster, but that had been left at the refuge. I suspect the 9mm was a "drop gun" provided by the FBI to justify killing another American patriot. I've seen several photos and videos of LaVoy wearing a belt holster and carrying a leather scabbard with a rifle in it. My guess is, that was probably a lever-action .30-30, Model 94 Winchester, or other lever gun. Those are typically what we think of as "cowboy guns." Neither the single action revolver nor the lever action are considered "assault weapons", nor are either suitable for combat. In the videos I've seen, which may or may not be actual footage of the ambush, one officer rushes toward LaVoy as he struggled in the deep snow and appears to shoot him at close range. That is not a normal police tactical
move. They obviously had officers hidden in the woods around the roadblock, probably with long guns. Why would one rush out through deep snow to confront Mr. Finicum at close range. The officer in question also does not appear to be wearing a helmet to protect his head, as we have seen most of the FBI agents wearing. No, something about the video is just not right.
