Sources claim death toll of Inquisitions only in 1000's, but add religious wars & torture & prison deaths

Various so-called researchers have claimed that the actual death toll from the Inquisitions is around 6,000 or so, but when you add the other related religious war campaigns the figure goes way up again. Who knows how many suffered and died at the hands of religious and/or government zealots during the Medieval and Spanish Inquisitions? Apparently there were many Protestants who were killed for not being Catholic.

The level of accurate records and reports during those ancient times would probably not reflect but what the ruling powers allowed, therefore, one must be willing to do a bit of interpolation here. There is probably no accurate way to determine the actual death toll.

While some sources prefer to list the number of actual executions at between 3,000 and 10,000 one must consider the possible 100,000 to 125,000 who died in prison and eventually from torture and maltreatment.

Some modern apologists appear to be engaging in an attempt to downgrade the ferocity and brutality of the Inquisitions while others present stark detail and images of the torture, etc..
