Not my parents.. My Dad came to live with me, twice during his later years.. The first time was fun (after a heart surgery) and the second time was harder for us all (a stroke).. My son gave up his bedroom so grandpa had a space... The personality change, after the stroke, was difficult for us all but we understood that this wasn't the 'paw paw' that we all remembered.. Mostly we just shrugged it off or retreated to our own spaces.. It was a learning experience for us all.

My mom is still independent (81 years young)but has mentioned moving in with one of us soon. Most of our kids have all grown so it will be easier.. As for this Granny pad.. My mom would LOVE it. She could be independent and close all at the same time. She could also have friends over. I would like the pod to have a separate bedroom..

My Generation families were mostly 4 to 6 kids. The parents worked hard to raise these kids. And they did it.

Now the kids are trying to put their parents in Nursing Homes saying that they cannot take care of them.

The Parents could provide for 6 kids but 6 kids cannot provide for 1 or 2 parents. This is cold blooded to treat your parents that way. Your time is coming because we all get old and you will be old soon and your kids will stick you in a nursing home to rot.
