ACTION 'THE CUT': Islamists arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina were planning a deadly attack on 31 December
Members of the group of radical Islamists who were arrested earlier this week in Sarajevo planned a deadly attack in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 31 December with a scope to murder as many people as possible said on Friday the State Prosecutor Dubravko Campara.
The Prosecutor's Office on Thursday decided to request one-month custody for eight of the eleven men who had been arrested in a police operation called "The Cut", which was performed on December 22, and the Court of B&H accepted said request on Friday.
Explaining the request for custody, the prosecutor Campara who is conducting the investigation, on Friday at the hearing before the Court for the first time confirmed that there is information that they were planning a bomb terrorist attack on The New Year's Eve.

There is evidence that the suspects were planning a terrorist attack in which more than a hundred people would be killed, the prosecutor said.
They were arrested for allegedly planning to set up an explosive device under a police car at one of the locations at which gathers a large number of people.

Explosive that is required for that investigators have not yet found and for the Prosecutor's Office that is an additional reason for custody because they believe that the suspects, if free, would destroy the evidence.
Lawyers of arrested classified the prosecutors claims as absurd and are opposing the detention order, arguing that there is no evidence that supports the the offense claims.
As members of an organized terrorist group close to the Islamic state (IS) are listed Elvir Muratovic, Kemal Murić, Semir Salković, Zulfo Alajbegović, Edin Tabakovic, Darko Peco, Elvir Masic and Adis Kesan and they will remain in custody for at least next thirty days.
For criminal offenses they have been charged of is provided penalty of at least ten years in prison.
