The fatal flaw in Mr. Sai's argument is this:

When Queen Lili'ukalani abdicated the throne of the Kingdom of Hawai'i, as absolute morarch, she in essence voluntarily turned her kingdom over to the United States.

Now, we know that she did this to avoid any bloodshed, but that is of no consequence. The Hawaiian subjects were not asked their opinions. No need to, by virtue of the nature of the absolute monarchy that Hawai'i had defined as a sovereign nation. The King, or the Queen, had the final word.

So, really the Queen, in her spirit of generosity, Aloha and Ho'oponopono, gave up her beloved Hawai'i to the United States. No legal grounds can challenge this.
