It would appear of late, that the police are no longer our friends. I will concede, however, that there are many good, loyal and caring police officers. The departments as a whole are being instructed and trained to inflict as much violence and misery on the people who pay them as possible. They are also guaranteed immunity from prosecution for their wrongdoing except in some cases. In those cases, officers who are not "team players" and refuse to violate their oaths are fed to the wolves in front of the media amid boasts of, "we're cleaning house and getting rid of the miscreants in our department." Yeah, right. Federal officers are even worse. They have absolutely no respect for citizens rights whatsoever. When they are given your name as a possible law breaker, you are considered guilty and they are tasked with beginning the punishment immediately, from destruction of property and outright theft during raids, to violation of the accused rights and assault, even murder, under "color of law." A great deal of money and equipment is handed down by the federal government (corporation) along with instructions to bear down on those they previously were tasked to protect. Our courts are now totally corrupt so there is little help available there. On the other hand, actual criminals are handled differently, as we have seen in the cases of illegal aliens who commit crime after crime and are released back on the streets. President Obama never met an alien invader he didn't like and protect.

I am pleased to report, however, that I am fortunate to live in a county where all the police I have encountered have always been courteous. (All our police are county.) I only remember one incident where an off-duty policeman started throwing his weight around in a tavern parking lot. I don't remember the details, as this was like six years ago, but he did get into a lot of trouble for that. There was another incident where they arrested a fugitive in the alley behind my house, and it seemed to me they only used as much force as was necessary, to arrest someone who didn't want to be arrested.
