I have been wondering why these criminals are so smug and untouchable. They seem to operate unchallenged with impunity. How can this be? Unless they have protection in the form of some kind of massive attack threat. A dead mans switch that keeps them untouchable.

I would have to venture a guess that DEFCON 1 is certainly possible. My immediate thought was with the Brunson SCOTUS case coming up on Jan 6th, the treasonous criminals have telegraphed a threat to back off. They are NOT going to be taken out and wouldn't think twice about taking out a city(s) in order to protect themselves. I also suspect that their weapons are very high tech and far more advanced and destructive than conventional nukes.
