All of the limestone in the world was once carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. All of the methane you burn was once limestone deep in the earth. Under high pressure and temperature limestone and water are converted to methane. A major source of methane is the methane released by volcanoes as methane produced deep in the earth from limestone is released.

There is only one fossil fuel and that is uranium. There is only one large renewable energy source and that is methane (there is not enough hydro, wind, and solar to power the world's economy-with alternative energies the world starves (the goal of the Greens)).

Methane is actually geothermal energy stored as a gas.
