This declaration by over 1000 scientists is very similar to the Oregon Petition of 3100 scientists that claims that there is no evidence for "catastrophic" global warming. The Oregon Petition really says that they believe in man made global warming but they also believe that the warming would not be catastrophic. This is a sneaky way to tell 80% of the nation that do not believe in man made global warming, "Hey, we are on your side". But in reality they DO believe in man made global warming. The same with this new declaration by over 1000 scientists.

The main climate scientist of the declaration is Professor Richard Lindzen, who DOES believe that CO2 warms the planet. His chief complain is that some climate models make too fast a projection of temperature rise. Yet, he ignores climate models that project a slower rise or models that are on target. His graduate students say that he is a contrarian personality and needs to oppose what ever is the prevailing idea.
